REDFORD
Redford and the adjacent burb of Polvo sits on the banks of the Rio Grande; once a prosperous farming community it now has appx 65 residents, a small amount of farming still plus some livestock.
The Bofecillos mountains are the north backdrop with the Sierra Rica range in Mexico to the south. Many historic and abandoned structures are present, plus the St Joseph Church, which is on the historic registry. The church is also a 5 room Airbnb, with kitchen, WIFI, great room and ample parking, with RV hookups.
The “3 Burials of Melquiades Estrada”, directed by and starring Tommy Lee Jones, was filmed here, as well as “The Ballad of Esequiel Hernandez”. Thirty miles north on the old Casa Piedra road was filmed “There Will Be Blood”, starring Daniel Day Lewis.
