LAKE AMISTAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

This is one of the largest lakes in Texas, with some of the best water clarity of any body of water in the State. White limestone beaches, multiple islands, hidden coves, steep cliffs, and a huge causeway bridge and rail bridge crossing are some of the cinematic features. There is also a mile long hydroelectric dam, and the lake itself is part of the International Border between the US and Mexico.

It is fed by the Rio Grande and Devils River, and has fantastic film locations at any water level. Charter boats and captains can be arranged for any project, the lake is also known for some of the best freshwater fishing in Texas. It is adjacent to the town of Del Rio, which has dozens of hotels, restaurants and an airport with limited commercial flights.
